Our Anglican Identity is the guiding pillar for all that we do.
As a school of the Anglican Schools Commission (Inc), our School is founded on the Christian Faith as it has been received in the Anglican Church. We have a Christian ethos and try to be faithful to the life and teachings of Jesus as guiding principles for our life as a community.
As an Anglican School, we welcome students and staff of all faiths and none. We believe that all people are equally children of God, made in God’s image, and that no-one is outside God’s boundless, merciful love. We try to reflect this by a commitment to justice. Our Pastoral Care is focused on healing and forgiveness, gaining a sense of purpose and direction, and growing in self-awareness and responsibility.
Our School Chapel, The Chapel of the Holy Wisdom of God, was consecrated in November 2011. We gather regularly for worship, prayer, teaching, silence and reflection. Weekly Chapel, for all students from Kindergarten to Year 12, is based on the liturgical traditions of the Anglican Church.
We have a full-time School Chaplain, a priest ordained in the Anglican Church, who is available to all members of the community, regardless of faith, for support and as a listening ear. Father Toby Sherring organises and officiates at Chapel Services and is part of the Pastoral Care Team for all students. He shares responsibility with the Principal for the Christian leadership of the School. All staff uphold the Anglican Ethos of the School.
The School Prayer
Heavenly Father,
we thank you for our school:
for the care and dedication of its staff,
the leadership of its council,
the partnership of its parents,
and the friendship of its students.
We ask you to enable us to love you
with all our heart, mind, and strength,
and to pursue the truth together.
Bless us with unity in Christ’s love,
humility in success and perspective in trial,
and give us confidence in your unchanging grace,
so that together we might walk in the truth,
and you might receive the glory;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen
