School Psychologist - Primary School

Permanent, Full-Time

We are seeking a graduate or experienced psychologist who is passionate about working with young people to support them in their emotional, educational and psychological development.

A School Psychologist is a significant role that requires initiative, discretion and an ability to deal confidentially and with empathy on matters of importance to the well-being of students. You will be expected to demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the mental health issues affecting our PK to Year 12 student cohort. In this role you will work predominantly with our Primary Students and occasionally provide assistance to our Secondary Students.

  The role will see the successful applicant providing

  • individual and group counselling services
  • cognitive, behavioural and functional assessments
  • services to the school community by way of workshop/education sessions for students and parents
  • supporting the community during and after critical incidents and
  • liaising with other agencies and external services where appropriate.

Selection criteria

  • Rights to work in Australia
  • Relevant tertiary qualification(s)
  • Hold or be eligible to obtain registration with AHPRA
  • Hold or be eligible to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWC)
  • High standard of communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Supports a culture of growth mindset in learning for students
  • Fosters positive relationships with students and the broader school community
  • Previous experience working with school-aged students (desirable)
  • Current First aid and CPR certificates (desirable)
